Bearded wood partridge


The bearded wood partridge is a bird species in the family Odontophoridae. It is medium-sized with a long tail. It is distributed in the temperate forest of the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range in Mexico. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forest and plantations. The Santo Domingo River in northern Oaxaca and western slope of the Sierra Madre Oriental, act as a biogeographic barriers and mark the distribution limits between these species. It is threatened by habitat loss. Defining its national risk category requires further knowledge of their current distribution range.
