Bates Cosse


Cosse Group is a marketing communications agency in Lagos, Nigeria.
Cosse was founded by Funmi Onabolu, who was the first Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer at the marketing communications agency Biodun Shobanjo's Insight-Grey. The Agency commenced operations in 1995.
The agency's clients include United Bank for Africa, Virgin Nigeria Airways, Wema Bank, Nigerian Breweries Plc, ARM, Interswitch, UAC Dairies, Nando's, Unilever, Nordica Fertility Centre, Lumos, and CFAO Motors. Cosse also won the creative business for Promasidor in Nigeria, following a highly competitive pitch involving leading Nigerian advertising agencies in December 2010.
Cosse currently maintains international working relationships with other agencies and production companies such as London Advertising in London & Joe Public in South Africa.

Solutions

Cosse created a complement of unique solutions such as the 'Sunny Golden World of B&H' Radio musical hit show for British American Tobacco in addition to the 'Star Wheel of Fortune' and 'Looking Good with Amstel Malta' both for Nigerian Breweries Plc
The Agency also contributed in making Star Lager and Benson & Hedges the number one brands in their respective markets, via unique experiential marketing initiatives.
Cosse started Through-the-line communication with the Benson & Hedges account in 2000 and got affiliated with Bates Worldwide network in 2001.
It also became the first local agency outside the centre allowed to develop creative concepts for both the B&H and BAT corporate accounts.
In 2003, following a damp squib advertising pitch, Cosse won the Globacom Advertising pitch, an account which the agency later resigned after a couple of years following a breakdown of agreement between the two organisations.
