Barry Jones (baseball)


Barry Louis Jones is an American former professional baseball player. He played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, Montreal Expos, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Mets.

Career

Jones graduated from Centerville Senior High School and later attended Indiana University Bloomington. In 1983, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was drafted by the Pirates in the third round of the 1984 amateur draft. Jones played his first professional season with their Class A Watertown Pirates in, and his last season with the Milwaukee Brewers' Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs in.
On July 1, 1990, Jones was the winning pitcher in a game that saw Andy Hawkins pitch a no hitter, but still lose the game.
