Bariawas


Bariawas is a village in Rewari mandal of Rewari district in the Indian state of Haryana. It is near Chhuriawas village Rewari at about on the approach Rewari- Garhi Bolni Road.

History

In the aftermath of Indian Rebellion of 1857, a temporary garrison was also setup near Rewari after Rao Tula Ram and his cousin Gopal Dev forces were defeated. It now lies in ruins.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census, Bariawas had a population of 753 in 144 households. Males constitute 51.39% of the population and females 48.6%. Bariawas has an average literacy rate of 67.19%, less than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 60.47%, and female literacy is 39.52% of total literates. In Bariawas, 15.8% of the population is under 6 years of age.
