Barbara Niven


Barbara Niven is an American actress and producer, best known for her performances in Lifetime movies and Hallmark movies, and television roles in , One Life to Live, Cedar Cove, and Chesapeake Shores. Niven also had the leading role in the independent film A Perfect Ending.

Life and career

Barbara Lee Bucholz was born in Portland, Oregon, and attended Beverly Hills Playhouse. She is known for her roles on soap operas The Bold and the Beautiful as Brenda Dickerson, and in One Life to Live as Liz Coleman Reynolds.
Between 1986-1993 she was billed as Barbara Lee Alexander.
Niven starred on the syndicated drama series . Niven also has appeared in guest roles on numerous television series, including ER, Cold Case, Las Vegas, NCIS, Charmed, Eli Stone and had recurring roles on Pacific Palisades and Silk Stalkings.
She played Marilyn Monroe in the HBO film The Rat Pack and has appeared in many films such as Under Lock and Key, Forest Warrior, Foxfire, Breast Men, The Drone Virus, Chasing Ghosts, Redline, Summer's Blood, A Perfect Ending and Suburban Gothic. She has also appeared in a number of Lifetime movies - Stranger in My Bed, The Perfect Neighbor, Double Cross, Murder in My House, A Valentine Carol, Dead at 17, Accused at 17, Heat Wave, My Mother's Secret, The Wife He Met Online, Disney Channel's Tiger Cruise, and Hallmark's Wedding Daze, Back to You and Me, Mystery Woman: Wild West Mystery, and McBride: Semper Fi

In 2013, Niven was cast in Hallmark Channel first original drama series Cedar Cove, opposite Andie MacDowell and Bruce Boxleitner.
Niven has written two books, Get Your Woman On and How Did You Do That!. In 2014, she co-starred with Kat Dennings and Ray Wise, in the horror comedy Suburban Gothic.
