Atia Mosque


Atia Mosque is a 17th-century mosque located at Delduar Upazila, Tangail District, Bangladesh. The mosque is also known as Atia Jame Moshjid. It was built during the Mughal Empire.

Location

The mosque is located about south away from Tangail city.

Construction

According to an inscription, the mosque was constructed between 1610 and 1611 during the reign of Emperor Jahangir by Sayeed Khan Panni, son of Baizid Khan Panni, in honour of Shah Baba Kashmiri. Shah Baba Kashmiri was a prominent Sufi saint of Bengal based in this area.

Style

The mosques combines pre-Mughal and Mughal elements.
