Ashley Clinton is a rural community in the Central Hawke's Bay District and Hawke's Bay Region of New Zealand's North Island. The area consists of sheep, dairy and mixed use farms.
The area was originally Makeritu was renamed Ashley Clinton in January 1885, most likely after the Ashley Clinton Estate in the English county of Hampshire. Makeritu, o Makeretu, translates as to alight and to stand.
