Arresto facto super bonis mercatorum alienigenorum, in English law, was a writ against the Personal property of aliens found in the country, as compensation for goods taken from a denizen in a foreign country, after he was denied restitution there.
Among ancient civilians, this was called clarigatio, and later barbarously reprisalia.
