Aračinovo


Aračinovo is a village and seat of the municipality of Aračinovo, North Macedonia. Aračinovo is one of the largest villages in North Macedonia with a population of about 7,000.

History

During the 2001 Macedonia conflict, it was occupied by ethnic Albanian insurgents. Later, during violence of the 2008 parliamentary election, a gunman in Aračinovo opened fire on security police. One person was killed and several people were wounded.

According to the 2002 census, the village had a total of 7315 inhabitants. Ethnic groups in the village include:
