Aquakultre


Lance Sampson known professionally as Aquakultre is a Canadian hip-hop and rap band known for winning CBC's Searchlight award in 2018.

Career

In an interview with CBC, Lance explained he got the idea for his artist name 'aquakultre' through his career as a plumber, 'aqua', and 'kultre' comes from canadian music in general. At age 19, he was convicted for drug trafficking and given five years in federal prison. After 19 months he was released on the basis of good behaviour. In May 2020, Sampson released their debut album, Legacy, which gained national media attention.

In 2020 Aquakultre released 'Legacy', a studio album pressed, and distributed by Black Buffalo Records. The album was longlisted for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize.
