Another Day, Another Dollar
"Another Day, Another Dollar" is a country music song released by Wynn Stewart in 1962. Though the song was not a huge chart success for Stewart, peaking at number 27 on the chart, it is considered to be an anthem among the working class. The song regained popularity in 2011 when it was used in the commercial for the new Volkswagen Jetta.
The phrase itself "Another Day, Another Dollar" comes from the building of the Panama Canal where workers were rumored to receive a single dollar a day as compensation for their labor.
