• February 2, 968 Anna gannen: The new era name was created to mark an event or series of events. The previous era ended and the new one commenced in Kōhō 4, on the 15th day of the 8th month of 968.

• October 26, 968 : A child who would become Emperor Kazan is born in the house of the man who would become Emperor Ichijō.
