Andrew Doyle (comedian)


Andrew Doyle is a British comedian, playwright, journalist, and political satirist who previously co-wrote the fictional character Jonathan Pie and is creator of the equally fictitious character Titania McGrath.

Early life and education

Doyle is from an Irish Catholic background, and was born in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He holds degrees in English and a doctorate in early Renaissance poetry. from Wadham College, Oxford,

Career

He regularly writes for Spiked and runs Comedy Unleashed. Doyle has performed his stand up shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, four of which have also been performed at the Soho Theatre London. He has appeared on Sky News as a commentator. He has been a speaker at the Institute of Ideas, Battle of Ideas Festival in London.
He is also a visiting research fellow at Queen's University, Belfast. Doyle originally worked as a teacher, including alongside Simon Warr at RHS.
