Andhra Pradesh Capital Region


Andhra Pradesh Capital Region is now divided into 3 capitals which is
  1. Executive Capital
  2. Legislative Capital
  3. Judicial Capital
The State Government shall endeavour to locate all the
Institutions of the State, the State Department and the
instrumentalities of the State in the three Capital under Section 7.
Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the State shall,
as far as practicable, seek to ensure the following:
The seat of Legislature shall be at the Legislative Capital
of Amaravati;
The RajBhawan, Secretariat and Offices of the Heads of
the Departments of Government shall be located at the
Executive Capital of Visakapatnam;
The Seat of all State Judicial Institutions established
under State legislations, shall, as far as practicable, be
located in the Judicial Capital of Kurnool;

Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has notified Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Visakhaptnam duly dissolving the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority vide G.O.Ms.No.302, MA&UD Department dated 05-09-2018, appointing Sri.P.Basant Kumar, IAS, as the First Metropolitan Commissioner for Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Visakhaptnam. Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Area to be called as the Executive Capital.

Under the jurisdiction of VMRDA, the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region, comprises, Visakhapatnam city and the districts of Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. It is spread over an area of and has a population of.

The region has a total of 13 urban areas including, the capital city of Amaravati, 3 municipal corporations, 8 municipalities and 2 nagar panchayats. Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali are the three municipal corporations, Gudivada, Jaggayyapeta, Mangalagiri, Nuzvid, Ponnur, Sattenapalle, Tadepalle are the 7 municipalities and Nandigama, Vuyyuru are the 2 nagar panchayats.

Jursidiction

The jurisdictional area of KUDA is spread over an area of 2,599.50 square kilometres. It covers 123 villages in 9 mandals of Kurnool districts. Kurnool Municipal Corporation, Nandyal Municipality, Dhone Municipality, Bethamcherla Nagar Panchayat and Gudur nagar panchayat are the ulbs present in KUDA.
Kurnool Urban Development Area to be called as the ‘Judicial Capital.
The Seat of all State Judicial Institutions established

located in the Judicial Capital of Kurnool;
