Anar Badalov


Anar Badalov is a Massachusetts-based Azerbaijani-American singer-songwriter and guitarist who founded the indie rock duos Metal Hearts and Travels. Badalov now performs and records as a solo act under the New Dog moniker.
Badalov formed the group Metal Hearts in 2005 and self-released Escapists. In 2006, they recruited drummer Sam Lieber and released the album Socialize on Suicide Squeeze Records.
In 2007 Badalov and Mona Elliott, from the band Victory at Sea, formed the group Travels.
In 2013, Badalov released his first solo album Lost Weekend, calling himself New Dog. In 2015, his second album, Classic Ballroom Dances, was released by Kill Rock Stars. This was followed a year later by a third album, Teeth Marks.
