Amar Singh (historian)


Amar Singh is an Indian educational administrator, historian, archaeologist and retired professor. He served as reader and then professor, head of department, chairman and Dean in the Department of History of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. He has also chaired various committees including selection committee of man and woman Athletics.
He has also conducted many seminars in various colleges and Universities, including Manohar Memorial college, Fatehabad in 2012.
He is presently associated with Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat after retirement as professor emeritus. He also served Baba Mast Nath University, Rohtak as a Head & Dean in 2015. He is academic consultant in Central University of Haryana. He is academic adviser of various universities.

Major Work

He has worked a lot on Harappan-era as an archaeologist.
Findings - "The beads and earthen pots indicate that the skeleton is nearly 3,500 years old and dates to 1500 BC. Recovery of skeletons from Rakhigarhi, Farmana and now Samchana villages in Haryana also indicates that the state residents used to bury their dead during the Harappan period."
He found A 3,500-year-old skeleton found in Samchana village of Rohtak district.
