Alex Grossmann
Alexander Grossmann was a French-American physicist of Croatian origin at the Université de la Méditerranée Aix-Marseille II in Luminy campus who did pioneering work on wavelet analysis with Jean Morlet in 1984. In effet, Grossmann and Morlet rediscovered Alberto Calderón's identity 20 years later, providing a proof using the tools of quantum mechanics. This in effect showed this identity's applicability to signal analysis.
He died on 12 February 2019.
