Albert Daeger
Albert Daeger OFM was the sixth Roman Catholic archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Born in St. Anne, Indiana, Daeger was ordained a priest on July 25, 1896, for the Franciscan order. His assignments included Kansas City, Missouri; Lincoln, Nebraska; Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pena Blanca, New Mexico; Sacred Heart Parish, Farmington, New Mexico ; and San Diego Mission, Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. On March 10, 1919, he was appointed Archbishop of Santa Fe and then consecrated on May 7, 1919.
In December, 1928, he presided at the mass of funeral of Father Anton Docher in Isleta Pueblo.
Daeger died on December 2, 1932 in Santa Fe after sustaining injuries from a fall down a coal chute.
