Alana Spencer


Alana Spencer is an entrepreneur from Aberystwyth. She is notable for winning the twelfth series of BBC One's The Apprentice in 2016. The programme's first Welsh winner, Spencer received a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar for her luxury cake business, .
Alana Spencer became a self-taught chocolatier at 16, renting her first kitchen and starting to sell her chocolates to friends, family and teachers before attracting the interest of two shops in Aberystwyth. In 2010, Alana decided to leave school and pursue her business venture. Initially calling her business Narna’s, she started making tray-baked cakes alongside her chocolates and moved production to a purpose-built country kitchen in her parents’ back garden. In 2016, Alana applied to become a candidate on BBC One's The Apprentice, seeking a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar, of which she was successful.
