After Hours (Jay McShann album)

After Hours is an album by jazz pianist Jay McShann recorded in 1977 but not released by the Storyville label until 1982.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow noted "Other than the opening "Doo-Wah-Doo" and the closing "Cherry Red," both of which include guitarist Thomas Muller, bassist Ole Skipper Mosgard and drummer Thorkild Moller, this is a set of unaccompanied piano and vocals by the great veteran Jay McShann. The music is typical for McShann, with veteran blues, the standard "Ace in the Hole," and some swinging boogie-based originals".
