Adventures in Middle-earth


Adventures in Middle-Earth is a tabletop role-playing game published by Cubicle 7. It is set in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, in the time between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is a redesigned version of The One Ring Roleplaying Game that is compatible with the fifth edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons, via the Open Game License. It was released in 2016, and won the Origins Award for Best RPG in 2018.
Cubicle 7 announced on 27 November 2019 that they would cease publishing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle-earth properties.

Game mechanics and theme

Adventures in Middle-Earth attempts to adapt the fifth edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons to the themes of Tolkien's Middle-Earth. This is accomplished by altering several core mechanics of the 5th Edition rules.

Reception

Adventures in Middle-earth won the 2017 Origins Awards for Best Role-Playing Game.
