ASSIA, Inc. is an American company that develops and sells products and software for managing broadband networks and residential Wi-Fi networks. “ASSIA” is an acronym for “adaptive spectrum and signal alignment.”

History

ASSIA was founded in 2003 by John Cioffi, an American electrical engineer who has carried out extensive research in the area of DSL. Cioffi has more than 400 publications and more than 100 pending or issued patents.
ASSIA is privately held. Its owners include AT&T, Mingly China Growth Fund, SFR Development, Sandalwood Partners, Sofinnova Ventures, Stanford University, Swisscom Ventures, Telefónica, and T-Ventures.
ASSIA's customers include telecommunication service providers in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and now has more than 70 million DSLs under contract worldwide.
ASSIA has worked in the field of dynamic spectrum management, a standards-based software approach to optimizing broadband performance.
