AKT InMotion

AKT InMotion is a New York City-based fitness company rooted in the functional training technique developed by international fitness expert, Anna Kaiser. Founded in 2013, the AKT program consists of a mixture of circuit training, HIIT, strength, toning, dance cardio, Pilates and yoga.

History

With a following that includes celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Karlie Kloss, and Shakira, the AKTechnique consists of a wide range of classes, from circuit training to full-on dance cardio. Kelly Ripa cites the AKTechnique as her favorite workout: "I love working out with Anna Kaiser. She doesn’t just tell you what to do; she does it with you. All of the trainers there do. The entire program is not someone standing over you saying ten more, five more, three more. There’s something about this pack mentality that appeals to me. I like a group of women working out together, sweating together. It’s empowering.”

Classes

Classes run from an hour to seventy-five minutes and change content every two to four weeks in order to keep the body from plateauing.
There are eight types of classes, for a range of fitness levels:
Calling itself a “360-degree lifestyle brand,” AKT InMotion offers classes, private training, sessions with a staff nutritionist, Transformation Programs, On Demand streaming, retreats, intensives, pre- and pos-natal programs, and a clothing line. Clients can pay for classes by using a drop-in pay method or by buying a membership. In addition, streaming memberships are available for on-the-go workouts, as well as DVDs of classes and a YouTube channel that boasts free tutorials of specialized exercises.
With a flagship location on the Upper East Side, the fitness company now has studios in NoMad, LA, Connecticut, and East Hampton.
