752nd Special Operations Group


The 752nd Special Operations Group is an operational unit of the United States Air Force Special Operations Command. A subordinate unit of the 352nd Special Operations Wing, it is stationed at RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk, England, UK.
As part of the 352nd SOW, the 752nd SOG is the United States Air Force special operations forces contribution to the U.S. Special Operations Command, Europe, a subcommand of the United States European Command.
The group's origins date to 1944 as the 2nd Air Commando Group.

Mission

The 752nd Special Operations Group is responsible for planning and executing specialized and contingency operations using CV-22 Osprey & MC-130J Commando II aircraft, tactics and air refueling techniques to infiltrate, exfiltrate and resupply special operations forces.

World War II

Established as 2 Air Command Group on 11 Apr 1944 at Drew Field, FL, 22 Apr 1944, trained to establish and maintain an airstrip behind enemy lines, to provide for its own supply and air defense, to attack targets in the enemy's rear areas, and to furnish air support for ground operations. Activated on 22 Apr 1944. Inactivated on 12 Nov 1945. Disestablished on 8 October 1948. Reestablished and consolidated with the 702 Strategic Missile Wing .
Redesignated as: 352 Special Operations Wing on 31 July 1985; 352 Special Operations Group on 21 September 1992. Activated on 1 December 1992. Consolidated with the 39 Special Operations Wing. Reactivated at RAF Mildenhall, England, 17 February 1995 and the consolidated group retained designation of 352nd Special Operations Group on 23 March 2015.
