43rd International Emmy Awards


The 43rd International Emmy Awards took place in November 23, 2015, in New York Hilton Midtown in New York City. This year's ceremony was hosted by Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef.

Ceremony

The nominees to the 43rd International Emmy Awards were announced by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on October 5, 2015 at a press conference at MIPCOM. 40 programs from 19 countries were competing in 10 categories.
The winners were known at a ceremony held on the evening of November 23, 2015, at the New York Hilton Hotel, with Bassem Youssef as master of ceremonies. Two special awards and 10 Emmy statuettes were presented by the International Academy during the event.
France was the big winner of the night, with three Emmys, including best drama series for Spiral and best TV movie/miniseries with Soldat blanc, followed by Brazil with the best comedy award for Sweet Mother, and telenovela with Império.
The Emmy for best performance by an actress went to Norwegian Anneke von der Lippe, and the award for best performance by an actor for the Dutch Maarten Heijmans.
During the awards ceremony Julian Fellowes creator and writer of the television series Downton Abbey was prized with the International Emmy Founders Award, and the International Emmy Directorate Award was given to Richard Plepler, Chairman and CEO of HBO network.
