21st Filmfare Awards

The 21st Filmfare Awards were held in 1974. Shakti Samanta's Anuraag won the Best Film award, but fail to win any other awards, a feat which was repeated by a few films in the 1970s. Raj Kapoor's Bobby, Yash Chopra's, Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Namak Haraam and Abhimaan and Prakash Mehra's Zanjeer shared the awards among them.

In his 2017 autobiography Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, Rishi Kapoor revealed that he paid someone to win him the Best Actor award for Bobby, beating Amitabh Bachchan's performance for Zanjeer. However, he is not certain if the person he paid actually had connections to the Filmfare committee, or if he was just a conman.
