2022 FIFA World Cup qualification (OFC)


The Oceanic section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification will act as qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar, for national teams which are members of the Oceania Football Confederation. A total of 0.5 slots in the final tournament is available for OFC teams.

Format

On 28 July 2020, the OFC announced that they had submitted a proposal to FIFA for the qualifiers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All 11 FIFA-affiliated national teams from the OFC will enter qualification.

Schedule

Qualifying was expected to begin in September 2020. However, the FIFA international window in September 2020 for the OFC have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On 25 June 2020, FIFA announced that the inter-confederation play-offs, originally scheduled to be played in March 2022, were moved to June 2022.

First round

The 11 participating nations will be split into two groups based on FIFA rankings. Matches would take place in March and June 2021 with each group being held in a central location.

Inter-confederation play-offs

The inter-confederation play-offs will be determined by another draw to be held at a later date. They are scheduled to be played in June 2022.
