2020 Houston Cougars football team


The 2020 Houston Cougars football team will represent the University of Houston in the 2020 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cougars will play their home games at TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas, and compete in the American Athletic Conference. They will be led by second-year head coach Dana Holgorsen.

Previous season

The Cougars finished the 2019 season 4–8, 2–6 in AAC play to finish in a tie for fifth-place in the West Division. They were not invited/did not qualify for any postseason play.

Schedule

The 2020 Houston schedule consists of 6 home and 6 away games in the regular season. The Cougars will play host to conference foes Tulane, UCF, South Florida, and Tulsa. They will travel to conference opponents Memphis, Navy, Cincinnati, and SMU.
The Cougars will host two non-conference games, against Rice and North Texas, both of the C-USA, and will travel to BYU, an FBS-Independent.
Houston had a game scheduled against Washington State, which were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
