2019–20 Boston Celtics season

The 2019–20 Boston Celtics season is the 74th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association. The Celtics will look to improve upon their 49–33 record following a semifinals exit to the Bucks. This is the seventh season under head coach Brad Stevens. After losing Kyrie Irving and Al Horford to free agency, the Celtics acquired former Charlotte Hornets All-Star player Kemba Walker on July 6, 2019. They also added former New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers center Enes Kanter during free agency.
The season was suspended until further notice by league officials following the games of March 11 after it was reported that Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert had tested positive for COVID-19. On March 19, Marcus Smart announced that he tested positive for COVID-19.
