The 2012 Sony Ericsson Open was a tennis tournament played at Key Biscayne, Miami, Florida from March 19 to April 1, 2012. It was the 28th edition of the Sony Ericsson Open and was played on hard courts at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park. The event was part of the 2012 ATP World Tour and 2012 WTA Tour. Novak Djokovic was the defending champion, and successfully defended his title by defeating Andy Murray 6–1, 7–6 in the final. It was Djokovic's third Sony Ericsson Open title.
