2010 Viennese state election
In the 2010 Viennese state election, held on 10 October 2010, the SPÖ lost its absolute majority. The party which received the largest positive change was the Freedom Party which reached 25.77% and doubled it seats from 13 to 27 gaining these from all other parties of the Landtag. The Viennese ÖVP on the other hand gained the lowest number of votes in their history. Other participating parties as the BZÖ Party and the Communists Party couldn't achieve the 5% threshold required for entering Landtag.Contesting Parties

A red-green coalition was built on 25 November and Michael Häupl was re-elected mayor of Vienna with 65 of 100 votes.
