2008 São Paulo mayoral election


The municipal election of the Brazilian city of São Paulo took place on 5 October and 26 October 2008 to elect a Mayor, a Vice Mayor, and 55 City Councillors for the administration of the city. The incumbent Mayor was Gilberto Kassab from the Democrats, who ran for a reelection. He took office after the resignation of José Serra, who ran for Governor of São Paulo in 2006.
