The 2008–09 Dallas Mavericks season is the 29th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association. The season marked by the arrival of former NBA Coach of the Year, Rick Carlisle who hired on May 9, 2008 following Avery Johnson was fired after the 2008 NBA Playoffs.
