2001 Honduran general election


General elections were held in Honduras to elect a president and parliament on 25 November 2001.

Presidential election

Five candidates stood for election, representing the five parties with parliamentary representation. They were won by the National Party's Ricardo Maduro, who won over 50% of the vote, beating his nearest rival by 8%.

The parliamentary elections were narrowly won by the National Party, who took 61 of the 128 seats.
