Two-time defending champion Ivan Lendl retained his title again, defeating Mats Wilander 6–7, 6–0, 7–6, 6–4 in the final to win the Men's Singles tennis title at the 1987 US Open. It was also the 6th consecutive US Open final of Lendl's record 8 consecutive US Open finals.Seeds
