1983 US Open – Women's Singles


First-seeded Martina Navratilova defeated defending champion Chris Evert, 6–1, 6–3, in the final to win the Women's Singles tennis title at the 1983 US Open. Navratilova completed the career Grand Slam.
Jo Durie reached the semifinal in Grand Slam, it would be the last time where a British female player reached the semifinals of a Grand Slam until Johanna Konta reached the semifinals of the 2016 Australian Open.
