1962 Michigan Wolverines football team


The 1962 Michigan Wolverines football team was an American football team that represented the University of Michigan in the 1962 Big Ten Conference football season. In its fourth year under head coach Bump Elliott, Michigan compiled a 2–7 record, finished in last place in the Big Ten, and were outscored by opponents by a combined total of 214 to 70.
The highlight of the season was a 17–7 victory over No. 10 Army, as Michigan took advantage of five Army turnovers in the second game of the season.
Bob Brown was the team captain, and Dave Raimey was selected for the team's most valuable player award. The team's statistical leaders included Bob Chandler with 401 passing yards, Dave Raimey with 385 rushing yards, and Harvey Chapman with 223 receiving yards.
