1961 Utah Redskins football team

The 1961 Utah Redskins football team represented the University of Utah during the 1961 NCAA University Division football season. Home games were played on campus in Salt Lake City at Ute Stadium.
Under fourth-year head coach Ray Nagel, the Redskins were 6–4 overall and 3–3 in the final season of the Mountain States Conference. The new Western Athletic Conference debuted the following season.
Utah did not face longtime rival Colorado in the previous two years. This season the Redskins upset the #8 Buffaloes in Boulder, Utah's first win since 1948. After 1962, the series went on hiatus until 2011, when both schools joined the Pac-12 Conference.
