1896 U.S. National Championships – Men's Singles


defeated Fred Hovey in the final 7–5, 3–6, 6–0, 1–6, 6–1 to win the Men's Singles tennis title at the 1896 U.S. National Championships. This was a repeat of the prior year's final.
With Malcolm Whitman, William Clothier and Holcombe Ward, three players made their first appearance at the championships who would eventually win the title in later years.
