12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards


The 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards was held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and was hosted by Lucero and Cristián de la Fuente. The eligibility period for recordings to be nominated is July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. The show will be aired on Univision.
Puerto Rican band Calle 13 were the big winners of the night with nine awards including Album of the Year for Entren Los Que Quieran; and Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Latinoamérica". The Best New Artist award went to Sie7e. Shakira was honored as the Person of the Year the night before the telecast and she also won the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album for Sale El Sol.
