1. deild kvenna is the second tier basketball competition among clubs in Iceland.History
The league was founded 1984 and until 2005 it was known as 2. deild kvenna.
On 13 March 2020, the rest of the 2019–20 season was postponed due the coronavirus outbreak in Iceland.Format
The team with the best record will be crowned 1. deild kvenna champion. The top two teams will then play a best of three playoff for a promotion to the Úrvalsdeild.Teams
