Żyrardów County


Żyrardów County is a unit of territorial administration and local government in Masovian Voivodeship, east-central Poland. It came into being on 1 January 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Żyrardów, which lies south-west of Warsaw. The only other town in the county is Mszczonów, lying south-east of Żyrardów.
The county covers an area of. As of 2006 its total population is 74,662, out of which the population of Żyrardów is 41,161, that of Mszczonów is 6,231, and the rural population is 27,270.

Żyrardów County is bordered by Grodzisk Mazowiecki County to the east, Grójec County to the south-east, Rawa County to the south, Skierniewice County to the west and Sochaczew County to the north-west.
