Číhošť


Číhošť is a village and municipality in Havlíčkův Brod District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.
The municipality covers an area of, and has a population of 336.
Číhošť lies approximately north-west of Havlíčkův Brod, north-west of Jihlava, and south-east of Prague.
Near the village lies the officially calculated geographical centre of the Czech Republic.
The village was a site of the so-called Číhošť miracle in 1949, which led to a crackdown by communist authorities against the Catholic Church and murder of local priest Josef Toufar.
